Jakarta is the sprawling cosmopolitan metropolis capital city of Indonesia. This steaming hot urban Asian downtown is everything folks expect of mega cities in the Orient, most are round the clock 365/24/7 full of action – surprise – edgy and in the case of Jakarta often dangerous. As of now and for decades anyone arriving at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Baten, everyone needs transport to either go downtown or transfer to areas in Indonesia. The first mistake is get a taxi – yes makes good sense in most major cities in the world to get a taxi ride to downtown or other locations.

But jumping a taxi at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Baten, can in many cases lead to being taken to unknown destinations where the taxi drivers often threaten the passengers demanding money. Some passengers even have all their luggage stolen along with money and credit cards. There is more in the worst case passports are stolen from tourists as passports sell for large sums of money on the criminal black markets…

But many of these transport problems are about to end at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Baten, as a new railway is about to open from the airport with a regular service to two – 2 downtown stations the price will Rp 100,000 – US$7.40.

The 2 downtown railway stations will be at in the west of the Jakarta city at Kota Station. The other is in South Jakarta at Manggarai Station.

The railway service is set to begin the first dry run in late November 2107.

Great news all round because when the new Jakarta Airport to downtown Kota Station and Manggarai Station railway starts running on a daily regular basis it will be safe for visitors to travel to downtown Jakarta from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Baten.
