Often with bureaucracy legislation takes time and in India the world’s biggest democracy extended timelines are the norm as opposed to an exception. So this is good news from the Indian Transport Department – quote – High security registration plates to be installed on new vehicles from May 1, 2012 older vehicles to get them by June 15, 2012
Here is the official line from a Transport Department official – quote – “The new vehicles will have to install the high-security registration plate (HSRP) from May 1, while older vehicles can do so from June 15,’’ – more – “The Transport department will start with new vehicles. The plan is that older vehicles can install the new numberplates from June 15 onwards;”
The vendor for the HSRP supply has not been named to date.
